The Tweet & Like plugin adds Facebook Like button and Twitter button on your sites content. Whether you set it to appear on top or bottom on each content or you can choose both to appear it on top and bottom of your content. You can also add Tweet & Like buttons in your sidebar via widgets. You can set the style of each button (Facebook, Twitter) on the settings page. It also adds the capability to add AddThis Bookmarking Service along with Tweet & Like buttons.
Installation
- Upload `tweetandlike` folder to your WP plugin folder `/wp-content/plugins/` directory
- The path must look like this: `/wp-content/plugins/tweetandlike/`
- Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
- You are ready, check the buttons on each post/page of your site.
- To make changes, go to Settings, Tweet & Like.

its seems the link for tweet-and-like plugin is broken.
any alternative download location available?
Looks good though
Hi Louis,
The link for the tweet-and-like plugin is working on the wordpress.org site.
You can click the link above to download the plugin.
Kurt
Hi Kurt, I used your plugins in my wordpress site and I have one question though, how to use this settings in “Exclude” section “You can enter post/page ID (delimited by comma “,”) where you don’t want the buttons to show”
I put this url “http://localhost/mike/blog/?portfolio=photography”
It doesn’t work for me, it still there, could you give me example how to removed this plugin in some part of the page, because I just want to be only show this in my blog section.
I already changed the settings to display to “post” and it works, but in my porffolio section, its always there.
Thanks in advance =)
Hi Mike,
The “Exclude” section accepts the post/page ID. You don’t need to use the exact URL as an input for the exclude section. Here is a video that show how to find the post/page ID and how to use it within the “Exclude” section.
Kurt
Hi Kurt,
I already watched your video, the page id is not my concern, here’s the thing, I have this url “http://localhost/mike/blog/?portfolio=photography”
the only changes for my url is the value of portfolio, for example:
http://localhost/mike/blog/?portfolio=games
http://localhost/mike/blog/?portfolio=gadgets
I don’t have page id for that, so how can i exclude that type of url, I’m a newbie in wordpress, thanks!
btw, are you filipino? Im from manila =)
Hi Mike,
The plugin uses the post/page ID to exclude the buttons on a specific page. If you are trying to view your portfolios that is not a post/page on Wordpress then you can’t exclude that page.
What do you mean when you say “I don’t have page id for that”? Did you create a custom html for your site?
Btw, I’m from Davao City.
Yeah, it’s custom html, that’s why that part don’t have page id, anyway nice plugin bro, maraming salamat =)
Nice, lean plugin! I have one problem: I use thesis theme and would like to change filter, so I can position it somewhere else in de post instead of after content. Like:
remove_filter(‘the_content’, ‘tweetandlike’);
add_filter(‘thesis_hook_after_post’, ‘tweetandlike’);
If I try this, the plugin disapears. How can I use Thesis hooks with this plugin:?
Hi Johan,
If you’re using Tweet & Like plugin along with Thesis theme you can’t hook tweetandllike to any available hooks in the theme. Tweet & Like uses the filter in wordpress. A filter use to accept a variable and return something while and action used to echo something.
Another thing,
You should use “add_action()” instead of “add_filter()” in your code since “thesis_hook_after_post” belongs to hooks and not filters.
Okay…thanks for replying.
Is there a way to position your plugin after the tags in single post, whether with a workaround or hardcoding?
I’m trying and searching for days now…Hope you can lead me to the right direction.
Hi Johan,
I’ll be releasing a new version for Tweet & Like plugin were you can select an option to use hooks and filters on Thesis theme.
Thanks, I’m looking forward to that….!
I discovered your blog site on google and check a few of your early posts. Continue to keep up the very good operate. I just additional up your RSS feed to my MSN News Reader. Seeking forward to reading more from you later on!?
Hi, very nice plugin!
My question is: Is there any way to exclude the plugin from the frontpage?
on every post that appears on the front page I can see the title and the word Tweet ( I assume that is where the tweet button would be placed).. on top and bottom (when it´s a very small post, let´s say 1 or 2 lines)..
Here is how it appears on frontpage:

Any help will be great..
Any replies on that Marcio? Have you figured out how to remove those words?
Can you send the link of the page/site you are experiencing the problem? I can look at it and help.
Awesome plugin!
Does exactly what I want it to.
One small problem: When you have “Show faces” ticked for the Facebook “like” feature, when you’re the first person to like something, your Facebook picture appears outside of the blue box. I hope that made sense ^_^
i want it
Really nice post,thank you
Hi Kurt,
good plugin but the botton ‘i like ‘ don’t work in my web site only ‘tweet’ work for me ??
plzzzzz need solution and thnak you …
sweet
Hello Kurt,
First off amazing plug, exactly what I was looking for some while!
It works all fine and everything, however I was wondering how’d you configure your plugin so that it makes the buttons also appear on the frontpage at each single post, because atm it only shows the buttons when you click on the specific post/page.
Keep up the good work!
Hi Adwiin,
Tweet & Like works on both front page & post page. When I say front page, it’s a static page the you’ve setup on “Reading” under “Settings” menu, and post page is where the list of post shows. Even if you stick on the default “Reading” settings on wordpress, still the buttons shows. The button should appear on each post on your home page.
Kurt, thank for the plugin.
I have an issue, in the frontpage of my blog, i have the post with more… option enabled. The question is, how can i disable the social buttons only in the frontpage?
Thanks and sorry because my english is not good enough.
Kurt – fantastic plugin. I have it running on INFOtainment News (http://bit.ly/7XtnaG) and absolutely love it.
Any possibility of including a stumbleupon link in the next release of the plugin?
Hi James,
I’m still thinking on adding some social buttons including stumbleupon. I’ll be including it on the next release.
this i use
Hi Kurt,
Thanks for replying (also @my mail), but is it required to have the option enabled on Static Page as I currently have “Your Latest Posts” instead. But as you said they should show up on both option but mines don’t show up on the frontpage for some reason…
- http://adwiin-music.com <- my site and see it yourself, it would be appreciated if you could help me out with it
Thanks again,
Adwiin
I’m very glad that you said this post
Excellent website. I love all of your stuff and not just this entry. Wish the site would have an RSS feed to syndicate.
Kurt
Fantastic plugin mate.. .works like a charm. One thing though… when I installed it, all the ‘like’ counts are already set to 100K or something. Whilst this does suggest popularity It’s a big too much… is there any way I can wind them back to 0 or at least a much smaller number so i get more of an idea how many likes I’ve had?
Hope you can help
Tom
I use your plugin in a few site… very nice !
I have a problem. I use a plugin for having a page un a widget. I don’t want the page that shows in the widget to show the tweet ang Like plugin. So I exclude the page… but the page override the exclude.
Hi Christian,
I see your problem clearly. Tweet & Like exclude options works on single page. It means when you try to view the post/page, the exclude works, in your case, the page is in the widget. Tweet & Like can’t determine the page. I’ll try to work on this.
Am I missing something? I can’t get the buttons to go side by side. I don’t want them one on top of each other, what can I do…anyone?
Great plugin, I did some hacks and it’s working perfect for me, but I would like to know how can do a Manual Insertion ?
How can I get your images to show on my Blackberry?
Excellent plugin, congradulations
It should have a option to not display the buttons on the home page, it would be useful for people like me that just display the excerpt on the home page.
Thanks for making this for free.
Hi,
Thanks for this great plugin, it was exactly what i was looking for.
Is there any way to set it up so that the like button doesn’t point to the individual posts, but to the main page (ex: http://www.comic-place.com/funhouse).
I know this is a bit of an unusual request as most people want the exact opposite, but i have a comic blog that is just at the beggining and having a single like counter for all pages will probably make it look a bit more popular right now than having a few “Likes” on each post.
After a while I would switch it back to its original form.
Thanks
Hey Kurt,
You’re plugin enabled me to kill two plugins with one stone. Thanks a bunch!
I have one issue though. The like/tweet buttons when used with the background seem to display on the same line as my blog content pushing the first line of text to the right. Is there any way to modify this so that it sits above the content.
See here:
http://www.brandynfidel.com/blog
Thanks!
Hi Kurt,
at first, thanks for sharing your plugin. You’ve done a very good job! I love it!
Is it possible to move the buttons a little bit to right? For my blog layout I need a distance of 50 px between the left margin of the page and the first button of your plugin. I’ve tried to change nearly every value of the script, but it won’t move. Can you please give me a little help?
Greetings, Horst
Hi Kurt,
I use your great plugin on my website, but sometimes the Twitter button does not show any Tweets, despite it having being linked on Twitter a few times. It might just be a glitch, but I thought I’d let you know, just in case.
Thanks,
Mark
Wondering if there’s a way to display everyone who clicked the FB “like” button. It only shows the name and/or picture of the 1st person to like it, and then just gives a count of other people who like it. Is there a way to display the names of everyone? Thanks!
I really appreciate all the time and trouble you took to make this fine plug in. Really terrific I thought I would need a seperate Tweet and FB plug in. Really well done I appreciate it.
If there were a PayPal donate button on the page I would have sent you $5 as a token of my appreciation.
Thanks man. This has been cool knowing
Kurt,
Great plug-in–thanks for the fantastic work!
I would like to add a comments url next to the update tweet & like buttons at the bottom of my post. I would prefer to add the comment to the div that contains the buttons so they line up correctly. Can you tell me where I can do that?
Thanks,
R
Good job and thanks – adding the share is a nice touch
Is there anyway to make sure the words don’t go to the next line ??

Hello,
I try to disable it on home page, how i can do this ?
Thanks to responses
Hi Kurt,
Your plugin works great on my “About/Home” page but doesn’t appear on any of the other posts which are separated by categories. I would like this plugin on my Portfolio category posts, the services and contact pages, I do not need it to appear and will use the exclude settings,
Thanks,
Jenny
Hi Jenny,
I haven’t touched the T&L plugin for awhile. I have a list of changes from users that I have to do and will include your comment and update the plugin.
I will update my blog when changes is done.
Thanks
The Facebook aspect of the plug in seems to be broken since the recent FB changes. How do I fix it without resetting the activity counters?
Hi Tyr,
What seems to be the problem on the FB like button?
Great writing! I want you to follow up to this topic?!?
keyword one
Hi Kurt,
Is there a way to show the tweet and fb buttons on the posts displayed within a category? It seems to only show on individual post pages. Is this another action vs filter hook thing?
Hi Kurt,
thanks for the awesome Plugin.
One question though: Somehow the Number of Tweets stays at 0 even though people are using it..What could be the problem?!
Hi Sebastian,
Where did that occur? Is the number of Tweets stays at 0 on pages or post? or on your home page?
Hello Im having the same problem. Number still satay 0 on post page. Please help
Thanks
Hi Kurt,
Thank for the awesome Plugin.
How do I show the Tweet and Like Plugin location of the index.php page, from post_content changed to post_title, can you please tell me?
Hi Sun,
What do you mean when you say from post_content to post_title? Was it in the Reading Settings changed to Static page?
Please explain.
Thanks
Hello, I currenty use this plugin for the posts. Is there a shortcode available to use it inbetween posts / pages?
Thanks.
Hi,
Shortcode is not currently available on the plugin. I will add the shortcode on the list of changes I’ve received from other users of the plugin.
Hi there,
Thanks for the plugin! Please add the light gray background.
Thanks
I added your plug-in and I love it. There is one problem I am having and that is that when i view my blog in firefox the items below the buttons shift to the left about 200px (or so). How do I fix this?
Hi Kurt,
Thanks for the plugin… is very nice.
I’m using and works perfeclty in the front page ( http://www.nilrevista.com/nilrevista) and in the post pages ( http://www.nilrevista.com/nilrevista/2011/02/21/p-i-papa-para-pom/ ), but in de category pages doesn’t work ( http://www.nilrevista.com/nilrevista/category/literatura/ ) . I would like to appear on these pages also. Can you help me?
Thanks.
Hi,
I’m working on an update of the plugin, currently, the version you are using doesn’t support that.
I’ll update my post if new version comes out.
Hey Kurt, not sure what’s happening but I think the tweet & like app is not counting tweets correctly. I can see only 1 tweet for this article — http://www.onegreenplanet.org/lifestyle/how-you-can-help-change-usda-policy-on-sick-and-injured-animals/ but I know for sure and can see on twitter there were any more tweets. Let me know. Please advise
Love the app, thanks for it.
It is a terrific plug-in however I need it to appear in the same line with the “Comments”, “Leave a post” text – just to the right of it. How can I control this – I have tried the tweet like container CSS but have inconsistent results from post to post.
Hi Kurt,
I suggest removing your username from addthis javascript. The way it is now, it looks as if you are trying to mine visitor data from websites using your plugin. I’m sure you don’t mean it that way.
Regards,
Fernando
Hi Kurt how do you remove the tweet and like buttons from the index and post list pages, but only include them in the posts themselves? is this support enabled?
Hi Tom,
The current plugin version doesn’t support that. It will in the future release.
I love this plugin and wondered if there was a way to get a box similar to the one of the right of the twitter on the Facebook like as well?
I’d really like to use this plugin, but it doesn’t seem to work in Safari/Chrome/FF on mac.
FF/Safari: You hit the like button and it does post to the profile, yet the “comment” area is hidden and you only see a small arrow under “you”. When you enable thumbnails for Facebook, you then do see the comment box but the thumbnails hang down below the outer plugin container border.
Chrome: Again, with thumbnails enabled, you do see the ‘comment’ box (hidden if thumbs off). This time, mouseover on the comment box flickers when you move the mouse and you can’t attain focus on the box to type any comment.
Hi Kurt
Nice plugin!
But isn’t it possible to see who likes your post i FB, when there’s more than one?
Best regards Ragnhild
Hi Ragnhild,
Try to use the show faces on Facebook settings to show the people who like your page/site.
I think I have to redo something on the CSS to make the faces show correctly.
In the future maybe facebook share
tnx . THE BEST PLUGIN
Hi there!
I’m using your plugin and I love it. Simple yet effective
. I’m just missing a howto for using it in a widget for the main page (the doc says it’s possible to do it, but it doesn’t say how.. or maybe I just can’t find it
. Could you help me?
Thanks in advance
.
Hi,
Just do drop the widget on the sidebar and it will just work. It will just add a button (twitter, facebook like) on the sidebar.
Hello Kurt,
how can i change the height of the box to use the new comment function with the like button?
Can you tell me that?
Where do i have to change change that?
Thank you for your help
Greetings Sebi
Hi Sebi,
Try to change the padding or add a height on “tweetandlike-box” located on tweetandlike.php
Enable showfaces so the comment will work.
Thanks
Hi Kurt,
I am using your plugin on my website and it works great. Is there any template tag? How to display buttons on summary view of posts?
Thank you
Unaga
Hi Unaga,
If you’re reffering for a shortcode of the plugin, it’s not yet available.
I’ll work on all submitted suggestions by users and will make a big revamp on the plugin.
Thanks a milion for your personal concern as well as initiatives! These things in your web site is actually very good. Additionally We dramatically understand your own creative ideas. In my opinion they are critical factors. Anyways bless you. Wonderful read.
Hi Kurt,
I like your plugin and use it on my website. I have a few suggestions for its development.
1) Include the new Facebook ‘Send’ button. You can find out more about that in the developers area on Facebook or on Mashable. This looks as though it can massively increase people’s willingness to share on Facebook since people know they won’t be sharing with their entire friend’s list on Facebook.
2) Have the ability to change the background colour (different for both top and bottom). For example, the top you might want as inconspicuous since your readers yas yet to read the content and the bottom to be prominent since they have hopefully enjoyed the content and need a prompt to remind.
Thanks,
Wayne
how can i program it so that when someone “likes” my post it goes into the Facebook newfeed on the main wall?
also, is there a way for me to check and see who “liked” my post?
Hi Laura,
As of the current version of the plugin, it doesn’t go to the newsfeed. The version used the iframe so it doesn’t get the newsfeed.
Hi is it supposed to pull the post or page url as a like or is it just the root domain?
Hi Shawn,
If you’re on the front page of your site, the link of the post will be the url, if you’re on a single page/post, the url of that is sent.
Hello Kurt, it’s Adwiin again!
I noticed your tweet towards me a little whole ago on which I responded but didn’t got anything back! Anyways don’t worry about that. I was still left with a question regarding your plugin.
Thingy I was wondering how I can configure the tweet button so that when you hit it (on the frontpage) it’ll tweet the specific content of that post instead of my main website’s url and title. However the button does his job fine when you firstly click on the post and than hit the button from there.
So basically it’ll include the current’s page title which is fine, but does grab the main website url when you tweet from the frontpage (unlike on the page of that certain post) Is there a way to fix this?
@Wayne Whom commented above me. Excellent suggestion on that second one!
Hi Adwiin,
It does, when you click on the front page buttons, the specific url of the button you’ve clicked will be “liked” or “tweeted”.
Can you send me details so I can help you.
Oops I forgot to enclose my message with regards how rude of me lol..
Regards,
Adwiin
Hello Kurt,
My compliments for your plugin, it works perfect on our website.
I am trying to align both buttons to the right of the page by modifying tweetandlike.php, and set the ‘float’ lines to ‘right’. The ‘Tweet’ button does align to the right, but the ‘Like’ button not.
Can you tell me please how I can align also the ‘Like’ button to the right?
Great plugin!
Mathew
Hi Mathew,
If you try to look at the html of the “like” button, the width expands to the rest of the width of the post/page.
You can try editing the iframe width of the button.
How do i remove from the main page? I just want it on posts.
Current plugin version doesn’t allow to remove buttons on front page. I will update on that.
Dear Kurt,
I’ve activated the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress, but no buttons available in each post.
It pops out when I move it to widget areas but still cannot on each of the post.
Please advice! Thanks so much!
Did you configure the settings of the plugin? Save the settings first before the buttons shows.
Hi Kurt,
I love the plugin! I do have 2 issues I was wondering if you could help with though.
1. I have a theme with custom post types. Is there a way I could stop the plugin from loading on those page types? I tried contacting the developer, to no avail.
2. The word “Tweet” precedes all of my blog post summaries. Any way to stop that?
Thanks for making a great plugin! Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Sure, I love to help. You can send me pm on email or skype.
Kurt,
I really like this plugin. I have it installed for a couple of months now and seems that it has stopped counting Tweets (not sure about likes). When my scheduled post goes live, i visit the post and tweet it. The tweet count doesnt increase. Any ideas? I did update wordpress a week or so back and wonder if the plugin might not be compatible or something. Any ideas?
Hi Sam,
Did you do the tweet on single pages? I’ll probably check why is the tweet stopped counting. It counts on my posts.
Great plugin! Instead of at the head of the article, I would like to have the small buttons on the same line as the byline, but aligned to the right. How can I accomplish this?
Hi Hooch,
You have to do an edit on the plugin. Try to add the buttons where you want it to be placed.
I’ll update the plugin in a couple of days that supports shortcodes. Probably that will help you.
Thanks!
Hi Kurt
Great plugin! for layout reasons I’m trying to get the tweet and like buttons to display in the widget only, is there a way to change the format from box format to standard?
thanks
Great plugin! How do I add tweet and like buttons to my sidebar using widget? Thanks!
HI John,
You can add it via Widgets under Appearance menu on sidebar. Just drag the widget on your sidebar and the buttons will show.
@Mauricio:
Try editing tweetandlike.php. Search for:
$add_taf = ( ((is_page() || is_single() || is_home()) && $display_in_both)
and change it into:
$add_taf = ( ((is_page() || is_single() || is_archive() || is_search() || is_feed() || is_home()) && $display_in_both)
This will make the buttons show up on the category and search pages.
@Kurt
Is there any bug when working on WP v.3.1.2? I noticed my FaceBook button is working perfectly, but TWEET counter is not counting any tweet. Maybe someone else is dealing with the same issue.
Regards,
Hi Toni,
I haven’t tried the Tweet counter on the new WP v.3.1.2. I will try to look into it and try to get what is the problem why it stopped counting.
Hi Kurt,
I don’t know what happened, but I just arrived home and now it’s working. The twitter counter has registered the tweets. I didn’t touch a thing, but it’s working now. Thanks for this awesome plug-in!
Regards,
Hey Kurt,
Just wanted to let you know that I love your plugin! I was wondering what the odds are that you may add the Google +1 to the plugin?
Hi,
I’m working on this, I was really busy for the past months.
I will update the site with the changes on T&L with more buttons.
Thanks for using the plugin.
Great news! I think yours is the best social bookmarking plugin and the +1 button is the only thing still missing.
Hey Kurt,
thanks for your great plugin.
I hope you’ll offer an update with google +1 count button in a row (share, tweet, google +1, fb like). I’m looking forward…
Kurt, I love the Tweet and Like plugin! If you could add Google +1, that would make it even more awesome. I don’t think we need more than these three, quite frankly. The other sharing sites are becoming less and less important.
Tweets, Likes and +1 are pretty much the only buttons that matter now.
Hi – is there a way to remove google +1? Part of the reason I loved the plug-in was the simple elegance of the two buttons, Tweet and Like. Does anyone know how to have the ability to switch this off as it’s ruined the layout on my page?
Hi Mark,
I just updated the plugin again and added an option to include/exclude the button.
Try to see the Google +1 Settings on the plugin settings page.
Love the plugin, but the new update causes a conflict with Google Adsense, and the ads won’t display. (I use AdRotate to display Google Adsense, if that helps.) I had no problems at all before the update today.
Hi Dan,
Try to not include the Google +1 button and see if the conflict is fixed.
Still blocking Adsense whether or not +1 is active
Any follow-up on this? I’d really like to be able to re-enable the plugin. Thank you!
Hi Kurt
I’ve tried at least 6 FB Like button plug ins and I like yours the best since it also combines the Tweet button. Great 2 for 1 plug in.
Having 2 problems.
1) As of version 1.2.1 – the Like button does not show anywhere on the blog
2) As of previous version – the Like button would post a random thumbnail image to FB instead of the featured image. I tried several Open Graph Meta plug ins for WP plus the Facebook-Like-Thumbnail plug-in but with no luck. From my research, this is a coding issue with header.php, functions.php, Open Graph Met property tags, and iframe verses XFBML version of the Like button.
Who do I get the Like button back? How do I get the Like button to post the Featured Image as the thumbnail?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Jay
blog is: http://www.jaywatson (dot com) /blog
i have installed the plugin and changed the settings, but it doesnt appear on my blog or posts, and now i have weird type in the top left corner of my blog…???? help
Hi Tobi,
Did you tick the post/page checkbox for where the button shows?
And also can you send a link where is the problem showing?
Hi! I really love your wonderful plugin! But since I updated to the latets version () the Plugin is gone on my page and in the header it shows: ‘); }); –>
What can I do?
Hi Oliver,
Can you send me a link where the error occurs?
Hi Kurt,
it appears on every page on the top, e.g. on http://zeichenschatz.net.dd21202.kasserver.com/blog. And there are no like/retweet-Buttons anymore on the bottom oft the blogposts. Maybe there’s a possibility to downgrade the plugin again?
And there’s another error I just noticed: when I click the Widgets-Page at the Wordpress admin interface, the bar on the right disappears so you can’t change any settings. When Tweet & Like is deactivated it works again.
I found the first version of the plugin. I downgraded and now everything works fine again. But Maybe my bugreport helps you improve the current update!
I have the same problem. The widget sidebar in “Widgets” in the control panel disappears with the latest update of the plugin.
Hi Kurt
Update:
Tweet-Like conflicts with Simple Facebook Connect Plug-in. The FB like button would not show. Disabled SFC and now Tweet-Like works fine!
Main problem:
As of version Tweet Like 1.2.1 – the Like button posts a random thumbnail image to FB instead of the featured image. I tried several Open Graph Meta plug ins for WP and the Facebook-Like-Thumbnail plug-in but with no luck. From my research, this is a coding issue with header.php, functions.php, Open Graph Met property tags, and iframe verses XFBML version of the Like button. Do you know anyway to solve this problem with your plug-in? What code to use? Where it should be placed?
Thanks for any help!
Jay
Thanks a lot! My fav plugin and love how you updated it!
I am not using the Simple Facebook Connect plugin but on top of my page http://chrome-plugins.org “‘); }); –> ” was added. It is only visible in Firefox for some reason.
Also, the icons are separated in two lines. How can I get them next to each other in one line?
Hi Till,
I just updated the plugin (same version 1.2.2 – if the auto update is not showing you have to download the plugin again) to fix the Firefox glitch “); }); –>”.
When I icons are separated in two line you can set the width in Facebook Settings lower than the default (350).
Love this plugin, but since the update, I have the same problem as Till mentioned above. Doesn’t seem to be messing up function, but wanted to make you aware of the problem.
I have encountered another strange issue: With your plugin enabled the widgets section in the admin panel is unusable (can’t click anything), I always need to disable Tweet#Like in order to edit the widgets.
I also noticed this plugin messes up the Widgets page like Till and Oliver say. It’s easy to check, so it should be easy to repair
.
Did I already tell you that I like the plugin?
Hi and thanks for a great plugin, very handy.
With the latest update it seems that the facebook button is broken. Any chance for a fix?
Thanks
I am having similar issues with the updated plugin:
1) With the plugin enabled the widgets section in the admin panel is unusable (can’t click anything), I always need to disable Tweet#Like in order to edit the widgets.
2) ‘); }); –> appears at the top of the page.
3) Google +1 is not visible on my blog with Firefox or Mozilla browsers.
Thanks for your efforts, Kurt – I am confident you will get all of this sorted out soon!
Hi there
Hope you can help! I loaded the FB share button and now I cannot see my website information. I don’t know how to remove it…Can you help please?
Thanks
Madge
Hi,
Can you send more information about this error? I think I can help.
The update that went through just now made the situation worse. My adsense was still blocked, but the plugin also somehow messed up the formatting on my page. I had to deactivate it immediately.
I wish I could provide more of an explanation.
Nevermind my comment… it was a different plugin causing the issue. Everything seems to be working well now.
Love this plugin, but I had one question – how do I get the Facebook button to show up? I think I’m doing it all correct but the Like button just won’t show up… Any help will be appreciated.
Hi,
If you’re using the version 1.2.2, the facebook button won’t show because of a bug. I’m fixing on it right now, the working version is 1.2.1
Thanks
Kurt, thanks for all your efforts to get the Tweets and Likes plugin working. It is now showing Google +1 in Firefox/Mozilla, however it would be nice if the three buttons (Tweet, Like, +1) were all in a row across the bottom. Right now, the Like button ends up below the Tweet button, and it doesn’t look very neat and clean. It would be nice if you could figure out a way to space them evenly across the bottom like this:
Tweet Like +1 (with 5 spaces or so between each, all on one line)
Thanks for your help!
Hi Jeff,
What is the url of the site? As you can see the Tweet & Like buttons are showing in a line on my site.
Try to adjust the width in Facebook settings to lower than 350. That my fix the issue.
Kurt, the url is http://www.weightlossexercisediet.com/
I tried changing the width in Facebook settings to 300, but it didn’t seem to help.
As you can see, the Google +1 button is too large and pushes the Facebook Like button down to the next line. I would like them to all be in a row, and I also tried to set the Google +1 button to the smallest size (15 px), but it keeps defaulting back to the standard size of 24 px. The 15 px would be ideal for this layout, so that all the buttons are the same size.
Alternatively, would it be possible to do this with shortcode (for all 3 buttons)?
Hi Kurt, I recently updated word press to the latest version and the then updated Tweet and Like but it seems to have disapeared, any ideas? I don’t want to lose all my current likes etc!
Cheers
Hi Steve,
Try ticking the checkboxes for Show On under the General Settings, that my fix the problem.
Thanks for using the plugin.
Kurt
Hello, great plugin.
I have one question. The heading tag that displays the title above the buttons is showing up as part of my content. So if I have a post with little text, the title is included as part of the post preview on my blog.
This may be a theme issue but I’d appreciate any advise. I’m using Modularity, a premium theme by Graph Paper Press. I’d give you a link but I’m customizing my theme locally before I go online.
Thanks for the great plugin!
Hi,
If I can see the site and might see the code, I’ll be glad to help you. Since you are developing locally, I can’t help you atm.
I don’t have any idea atm what is causing the problem.
Does anyone else have an issue with the updated version of this plugin (1.2.3) and IE9? It is really strange for me. When viewing my site with IE9 and the plugin enabled, everything works fine for about five minutes. Then all of a sudden my page formatting goes berzerk (the side bar appears underneath my comments). I don’t have the issue in Safari, Firefox, or Chrome. Any ideas?
Dan, I had exactly the same issue and had to de-activate the plugin. I hope Kurt is working on a way to make XFMBL optional rather than mandatory? For those of us who aren’t computer experts, it’s very difficult to make the code changes so that our sites will render properly in Internet Explorer.
Kurt, any update in this regard? And will you be able to also address the issue of having the three buttons along the bottom in a nice clean row?
Really appreciate your efforts and LOVE the potential for this plugin!
Thank you so much,
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
I’m working on an update regarding this issue. You can see the update soon.
Regards,
Kurt
I am facing same issue
Any suggestions
Good morning Kurt,
i have a question about your plugin. Can I change the language for this plugin?
My website is in Germany and i would like to have the text in German.
How can i do that? What do i have to change?
Can you tell me that?
That would be very nice.
Greetings from Germany
Sebi
Hi Sebi,
I’ll be glad to help you, I will include languages in the next update. Just watch out for it maybe in the next few days.
Thanks for using the plugin,
Kurt
Hi Kurt,
that is totally great.
Thank you very much.
Greetings Sebi
Until the latest update I was using it for posts, portfolio posts and on the FrontPage as a sidebar widget.
However, the widget disappeared. I can’t seem to find it anymore. Was that functionality discontinued? Would be a shame.
cheers,
tom
I agree with tom on this issue as well – the sidebar widget is a nice feature, especially with Wordpress mu sites (blogs with multiple members), because that way the administrator doesn’t have to adjust the settings for Tweet and Like on a case-by-case basis. Just put the widget in the sidebar and you’re good to go.
I have recommended this plugin to several Wordpress mu site administrators, and I am now concerned that they will stop using it if the sidebar functionality has been discontinued.
Kurt, any comment on this issue?
I’m thinking on this too, For the mean time, I just disabled the widget on the current version. Maybe in the next update, I will include it back.
Thanks, Kurt – Looking forward to the next update of the plugin!
hey…
So LOVED the tweet and like, but I have to manually install updates for WP for whatever reason.
When I did that, my buttons disappeared! D:
Any thoughts…?
Hi Andrea,
Try to check the settings page and see if the checkbox on “Show on” under General Settings is ticked. This is a change from the update.
Thanks for using it,
Kurt
I have the tweet button showing up fine now, and was really excited to see the Google +1 button too, however they’re not showing up and neither is the background bar.
I dont know if I have some settings wrong or what (total noob on wordpress) but if you could have a look that would be great.

Thank you for your swift reply!
Sorry that was unclear,
Tweet is showing fine, Google +1 and Share button are not, and netiher is the background you have added (very snazzy, really like it)
~Andrea
how to edit this plugin, i didn’t find setting on this plugin? you may check my site, the plugin it doesn’t work like you….
What do you mean? You can see the “Tweet & Like” Under the Settings on the sidebar.
Settings->Tweet & Like
Then don’t forget to save afterwards.
You should add language options for Facebook Like
Currently it only displays in English even though Facebook nearly support all languages!
Working on it. I will add facebook language on the next update.
I haven’t have time to work on this.
Sounds good!
Looking forward to be trying it out then.
How can we embed it in php template using a function call. Something like this:
This is function to embed the pagenavi plugin in code.
LOVE THIS PLUGIN!
I’m having a space issue on every website I use this on – the plugin sits too close to the title tag and content, then images and elements are moved to the side – which file and where can I add a br tag or a p tag in the tweet like plugin code so that it breaks nicely and doesn’t put images RIGHT ON TOP OF the tweet like feature. Let me know if you need further clarification/explanation in order to answer
Hi Lisa,
Can you link the page where the issue occurs and I will check it and respond to you soon.
another thing — on places on the website where there are no words written in EXCERPT – it makes the website look funny with the words SHARETWEET on the page — I’ve resolved this by adding an &npsb; BUT we have 1,000 articles and I don’t want to do each one by hand – any suggestions as to how to get rid of that? Some articles on our site USE an excerpt but most do not.
Hi! I’ve tried a bunch of plugins for social buttons and yours is the one that works best for me. Thank you for sharing!
Hi there Kurt,
Thanks a lot for all the support your giving. This is one of the most useful plugins I installed.
There’s something that isn’t working properly on my website since I updated the Wordpress to v.3.2. Everything is working ok except for the Facebook “like” button. You can click it but it does not remain clicked and it does not count the clicks. You can try it on my website: http://www.podriaserpeor.com/ . This is very strange, because it actually tries to publish on the facebook profile, but it actually “unclicks” and does nothing.
Thanks in advanced for all your cooperation and hard work. Regards.
Hi Idealista,
I tried liking 3 posts on your site, like button is not working on 1 of the post.
This is the post http://www.podriaserpeor.com/2011/07/avance-redes-offtopic/ that the like button not working.
The post doesn’t seem to have any likes. That maybe a facebook problem as it gives me an error: “Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.”
Hope that helps
Thanks for your answer, Kurt. The issue finally solved on his own… I still don’t know what really happened, but now it seems it works properly and the button is fine.
On the other hand, I found another issue now (sorry for bothering you again, bro). It seems that the Google+ button works fine on each independent article page, but if you want it to appear on the main page, on each excerp, when you click one of them, the other excerpts button also become marked.
I hope my English is good enough to make you understand it, sorry.
Let me know anything else you need.
Regards,
Hi Kurt!
I like very much this pluggin but I have a problem, When I use the +1 Button its make the action on the page and not to the post, the Tweet and the like of Facebook work fine. But everytime I click +1 al the +1 in the page change the number
I too am seeing this issue.
If you go to the main page of my website, you can see that the Twitter and Facebook buttons have the correct count for the specific post. However, the Google + button seems to be tied to the main URL vs. the Post. So all posts on the front page will show the same G+ counts.
If you click on a post, you will see that the G+ count is different than the front page count.
P.S. I love the plugin!
Hi Greg,
I will update today so the issue is fixed. Trying to do the widget function. But will update without the widget working.
Kurt,
I sent you an email as well but thought I’d post here too, so others can read as well.
The “like” button is acting odd for the past 1-2 weeks — some articles are recording likes and some are not (via your pluggin). This is an example of one that is not recording any likes and we know many people have liked it: http://www.onegreenplanet.org/animalsandnature/nyc-carriage-horses-dont-get-what-they-really-need/
Please advise how I can fix it, Thanks so much!
Hi,
I already liked the page and the like button is working.
I’m on this issue and working on a fix.
Only the Twitter button seems to be working on our blog – http://www.tandhblog.co.uk – I’d like to also include the Facebook like button and Google+.. can you help?
Hi Kurt,
I really love the plug-in but when I select the Twitter and Facebook buttons to appear on top of the posts, the Facebook button moves down one paragraph because of a conflict with the ads displayed on the top of the post. Is there any code you can suggest to keep the button on one line? I tried adding an “overflow” tag but it broke the plug-in.
Thanks,
KR
Hi KR,
Can you send a URL which that issue occurs? I will try to do a fix on that.
Hi,
Thanks for the plug-in.
I think you have a bug there in the google+ feature. It seems that when you choose the buttons to appear on the front page of the blog, if someone +1s one of the posts in the front page, it counts this +1 for all the posts in the front page, or at least it is displayed as such. I think it probably counts this +1 as a +1 for the frontpage, because if you actually click into one of the posts, you see that the +1 clicks is equal to 0.
Is this making any sense?
Thanks
a
Yeah, I already did this but haven’t updated the repo.
It was lame for me to update since I’m finishing the widget on the plugin. I will update today but without the widget function, yet.
Hey, really like the plug-in, but I noticed on the latest update, the Facebook button seems a little out of line, and the spacing with the general share button seems a little more cramped than before.
There seems to be an issue when someone tries to +1 your site. I think your code may need updating to account for the problem.
There is a problem using +1 on my site and yours.
Hi Scott,
As for the current version you’re using, the boxes only appears on top and bottom of each post. I’m working on adding hooks on the plugin.
I’ll post an update about it.
Thanks a lot!
